Terms of Use
Last updated: 4 June 2026
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Squadjacent (“Squadjacent”, “we”, “us”) for the Squadjacent app and website (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
Who can use Squadjacent
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract and to consent to our Privacy Policy under your local law. You’re responsible for your device and for anything done through your identity on it.
What Squadjacent is
Squadjacent lets you create a temporary “space” and talk by voice and text with the people you let in — typically people physically near you. Spaces are ephemeral. We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the Service.
Your content and conduct
You’re responsible for the voice and text you share (“Content”). You keep your rights to your Content; you grant us only the limited licence needed to transmit it to the other people in your space and to operate the Service.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You agree not to use Squadjacent to harass, threaten, bully or defame anyone; to share content that is illegal, hateful, obscene, sexually exploitative, or that infringes others’ rights; to impersonate others; to spam; or to break the law.
Reporting and blocking
In the app you can block a participant and report a space or person. You can also email us at [email protected]. We review reports of objectionable content and abusive users and act on them — typically within 24 hours — by removing content and ejecting and banning offending users. We may remove Content or suspend access at any time to enforce these Terms.
No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don’t guarantee that discovery, voice or messages will always be available, timely or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Squadjacent is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Termination
You can stop using Squadjacent at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
Apple App Store terms
If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, the following also apply:
- These Terms are between you and Squadjacent only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Your licence to use the app is a non-transferable licence to run it on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
- Squadjacent, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app, its content, maintenance and support, and for addressing any claims relating to it (including product-liability, legal-compliance, and intellectual-property claims).
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept them. We’ll revise the “last updated” date above.
